Kshama Sawant

Kshama Sawant is a software engineer who emigrated from India with her husband, who works for Microsoft. She’s a classic lissy, telling fans she dislikes India’s caste system (who doesn’t?). Her biggest issue by far is the $15 minimum wage, an issue few, if any, elected officials don’t support.

Can you imagine a software engineer turned activist living in 21st-century Seattle — a high-tech capital — without a website? In fact, the domain www.kshamasawant.com redirects visitors to her campaign website at www.kshamasawant.org, which is now a blank page. Sawant supports and is supported by Bernie Sanders, who is himself a con-op. She gets tons of publicity in the Seattle media, with relatively few insults. She was endorsed by the Zionist weekly The Stranger.

If you’re still not convinced, then ask yourself how a woman who calls herself a socialist could get elected to the Seattle City Council. If that achievement doesn’t boggle your mind, then you clearly don’t understand Seattle’s political scene.
